Adult Learning

As a community college, Barton Peveril’s Adult Learning programme offers everything from business and vocational training to essential skills and traditional evening courses.

What can I study?

The majority of courses are listed in our Adult Learning brochure with further details available on the course search page. Popular options include

  • Chemistry and other selected A Levels

Many courses lead to NVQs and other qualifications. We also offer a wide range of work-based learning options, short courses and bespoke training programmes for business clients.

Where and when?

Courses take place at Barton Peveril and at community venues across a wide area. All are designed to meet individual study aims and provide high quality tuition in well-equipped environments. You can study part-time or full-time; during the day or in the evening.

Essential Skills

Our Essential Skills department offers a wide range of courses to help improve literacy, numeracy and English skills. Many are free courses and all help you work towards a national qualification at your own pace.
